The first interview within a new, author’s project – “Multipolarity” by Edgar Gvazava, the Advisor to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the de facto Republic of Abkhazia, was held with Yevgeny Primakov. Primakov is the Head of the Federal Agency for CIS States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Affairs (Russian House) and is responsible for the implementation of Russia's “soft power.”
According to Primakov, the Russian House office in occupied Abkhazia has good relations with the de facto government, the academic community and compatriots living in the de facto republic. The agency cooperates with schools, universities, non-governmental sector and works with them on various topics.
Primakov also noted that it is in Russia's interest to have peace in the South Caucasus, including occupied Abkhazia, and to give the “countries” the opportunity for sovereign self-development.
