On September 19, the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, submitted to the State Duma an agreement on military-technical support to the occupied Tskhinvali region for ratification.

The purpose of the agreement which was signed in Tskhinvali on August 23, 2023, is to increase the defense capability of Russia and the de facto republic. As per Putin's decree, the Deputy Head of the Federal Security Service of Russia, Ramil Saifutdinov, will present it to the Duma for ratification.
