On February 7, 2019, in Moscow, Russian Deputy Minister of Health Dmitry Kostenikov and de facto Minister of Health of the Tskhinvali Region Giorgi Totchiev signed a protocol on financing medical insurance agreement between the Tskhinvali Region and the Russian Federation.

Recruits of the motorized infantry units of the 7th Russian military base in Abkhazia, destroyed the „enemy’s“ hidden firing points. Servicemen detected hidden firing points using reconnaissance, management and communication portable complexes – „Стрелец“.

According to Anatoly Sidorov, the Chief of Joined Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, strengthening US and NATO influence in the Caucasus creates preconditions for escalating tensions around Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali Region.

The year 2019 started tragically for Russian citizens in Abkhazia. Up to 3000 servicemen of the 7th Russian military base in Abkhazia performed night shooting from the armament of tanks (Т-72Б3) and armoured personnel carriers (БТР-82АМ) in mountainous and coastal areas.

On January 29, 2019, Uruzmag Jagayev, de facto Prosecutor General of the Tskhinvali Region, met with Yuri Chaika, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation. The sides discussed the issues of cooperation and the implementation of the reached agreements. 

On January 28, 2019, 3000 servicemen of the 7th Russian military base in Abkhazia participated in combat readiness check.

On January 25, 2019, at the International Center "Moscow House" in Sokhumi, Dmitry Kononov, „Rossosrudnichestvo“ Consultant in Abkhazia, held a meeting with applicants to the Russian universities.

As a part of combat readiness check, drill was activated at the 4th Russian military base in the Tskhinvali Region.
