Following the recognition of the independence of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali by the Russian Federation in August 2008, Moscow actively began the process of integration of the occupied regions of Georgia, including in the field of the energy. Russian energy company “Rosneft“ completed construction of the first filling station in Tskhinvali Region. Construction of the second station will be completed in 2-3 months. At this stage only two filling stations construction is planned in Tskhinvali. One station is located at the north exit of Tskhinvali, on the opposite side of meat factory “Rastdon“, and another – in the district of “Neftebaz“.

Russian energy company „Rosneft“ started filling station construction in Tskhinvali. Construction of two filling stations is planned in Tskhinvali as per agreement reached in 2017 between Anatoly Bibilov, de facto President of the Tskhinvali Region and Igor Sechin, „Rosneft“ Executive Director.
