Former Head of the Border Division of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in Abkhazia

General biographical information

  • In 1992, graduated from the Dzerzhinsky Higher Military Border Command School.
  • In 2001, graduated from the Russian Federal Border Service Academy.
  • Dmitriy Yudin is awarded the rank of Major General.

Military career

  • In 2010-2013, the Head of the Border Division in Magadan District.
  • In 2013-2015, the Head of the Border Cooperation Group in Belarus.

Activities in Abkhazia

  • On March 24, 2015, by the order of the President of Russia, he was appointed the Head of the Border Division of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in Abkhazia. De facto President of Abkhazia, Raul Khajimba, personally introduced Yudin to the members of de facto Security Council. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Head of the Border Service of the Russian Federal Security Service, Vladimir Streltsov.
  • Yudin was an active participant of the events in the occupied region. He had a close working relationship with Khajimba and periodically held meetings with de facto President to discuss the operational situation in the occupied region. E.g. In April 2016, Yudin informed Khajimba on the closure of the Tagiloni checkpoint at the so-called administrative border and briefed on the activities to be carried out.
  • On September 3, 2018, Yudin held a farewell meeting with Khajimba where he introduced Aleksey Trubetski, acting Head of the Division, to de facto President. By the order of the President of Russia Yudin was appointed to another post.
