Career at Rossotrudnichestvo

  • Sergey Skvortsov started his career at the Rossotrudnichestvo in 2004.
  • In different years he worked at the Rossotrudnichestvo offices in Mongolia and later in Moldova.
  • In 2018, Skvortsov was appointed the Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Office in the Tskhinvali region. He replaced Mikhail Stepanov.
  • In July 2023, Skvortsov completed his 5-year assignment in the Tskhinvali region. On July 26, the de facto President of the Tskhinvali region, Alan Gagloyev, expressed his gratitude to  Skvortsov for his work and awarded him with the “Order of Friendship” for strengthening friendly ties between Russia and the region.

Relations with the Tskhinvali region

  • On August 1, 2018, Skvortsov held the first press conference, where he named more active cooperation with the youth as one of the priorities of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in the Tskhinvali region. He added that it was necessary to strengthen ties between the the younger generations of the Tskhinvali region and the Russian Federation.
  • On August 22, 2018, participated in the celebration dedicated to the day of the State Flag of the Russian Federation. Skvortsov said that it is important to mark this day as the so-called South Ossetia and the Russian Federation are "one whole."
  • On September 6, 2018, attended the opening of a Russian-language school in Akhalgori. The school was opened with the financial assistance of Russia.
  • On April 25, 2019, attended the festival My Favorite Russia! The festival is aimed at popularizing Russian culture and is held annually in the Tskhinvali region.
  • On August 30, 2019, delivered a speech at the rally Thank You Russian Soldier. Skvortsov said that a Russian soldier would always help the Tskhinvali region, and "enemies should know that one should not meddle there where is a Russian soldier.”
  • On December 18, 2019, attended the presentation of the special issue of the magazine Russian Word in South Ossetia.
  • On February 17, 2020, attended the art competition I Draw Victory, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the victory in WWII. Skvortsov said the competition aimed at raising awareness about the historic event and arouse public interest.
  • On February 3, 2020, the children's drawing competition Russia through the Eyes of the Children of South Ossetia was held. Skvortsov was the jury member.
  • On August 26, 2020, participated in the festive event and congratulated the audience on the 12th anniversary of the "recognition of independence" of the Tskhinvali region.
  • On January 31, 2023, Russian House handed over 20 thousand textbooks to the library fund of the de facto Ministry of Education. According to Skvortsov the mentioned event is another stage of the Development of Education Russian state program.
