Stepan Drozdov

Former Official Representative of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in the Tskhinvali region 

Professional career

• Stepan Drozdov, prior to his appointment in the Tskhinvali region, was the Head of the Department of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.
• Since 2016, Drozdov has been the Official Representative of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation and an adviser to the Diplomatic Mission of the Russian de facto embassy in the Tskhinvali region.

Relations with the Tskhinvali region

• On September 18, 2016, elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation were also held in the Tskhinvali region where 12 polling stations were opened. Drozdov was the Chairman of the Election Commission.
• A meeting of the Board of the State Security Committee of the Tskhinvali region was held on January 31, 2020. The meeting was attended by the de facto President of the Tskhinvali region, Anatoly Bibilov, and Drozdov. The de facto Chairman of the Committee, Oleg Shirin, presented the 2019 report of the Committee.
