Sergey Golenkov

Representative of the Ministry of Internatl Affairs of the Russian Federation in Abkhazia

General Biographical Information

• Sergey Golenkov is the Representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in Abkhazia and the Counselor to the diplomatic mission of the Russian Embassy in Abkhazia. He replaced Stanislav Apsava in this position in 2021.
• Golenkov has a rank of police colonel.

Relation with Abkhazia

• On June 10, 2021, a meeting of the committees of the internal affairs bodies of the border regions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia was held in the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic of the Russian Federation.  Golenkov also participated in the meeting.
• On November 17, 2011, a round table discussion, Tell Drugs - No!, was held in Sokhumi. The event was organized by the Justice. Well-being. Development cultural foundation, with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo office in Abkhazia. The round table discussed the problem of drug addiction in Abkhazia. Golenkov spoke about the experience of the fight against drugs in Russia.
• On October 12, 2023, the de facto Minister of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia, Robert Kiut, hosted a delegation of the Main Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The Russian delegation was headed by the Deputy Head of the directorate, Major General Andrey Shchurov. At the meeting, the parties talked about bilateral cooperation. Golenkov also participated in the meeting.

• On December 20, 2023, the de facto Minister of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia, Robert Kiut, hosted a delegation from the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. The purpose of the visit of the Russian delegation was to provide practical and methodological assistance to the de facto ministry. Golenkov also took part in the meeting.

• On February 9, 2024, in Sokhumi, the de facto Minister of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia, Robert Kiut, met with a delegation of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. Golenkov also took part in the meeting.

• On April 11, 2024, the de facto Ministry of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia hosted a meeting with the Head of the Expert and Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Vadim Kazmin. Golenkov also took part in the meeting.
