Vasily Shepelev

Director of the Joint Information-Coordination Center of Internal Affairs Agencies of the Tskhinvali Region

General Biographical Information

  • Vasily Shepelev is the Director of the Joint Information-Coordination Center of Internal Affairs Agencies of the Tskhinvali region. He replaced Militia Colonel Alan Bolataev in this position who became the first Director of the Center in December 2018.
  • Shepelov is a police colonel.

Relations with the Tskhinvali Region

  • On June 10, 2022, the de facto Minister of Internal Affairs of the Tskhinvali region, Valery Gazaev, met with Shepelev. Shepelev informed Gazaev about the Center's structure, main goals and objectives. The meeting also discussed the issues of cooperation in the “border” area, the fight against organized crime and the prospects of cooperation.
  • On July 4, 2022, the 6th anniversary of the signing of an agreement on the formation of the center was celebrated in Tskhinvali. At a press conference, Shepelev also spoke about the extradition of wanted persons from Russia to the de facto republic. As he said one wanted person was already extradited in April 2022. A video clip about the activities of the center was also screened at the ceremony. After the event, participants visited facilities of the center: a multi-purpose residential building for the center's employees from Russia, an auto-technical expertise building, a shooting range, a sports hall, a forensic laboratory and an administrative complex. The de facto President, Alan Gagloyev, , as well as the de facto Prime Minister, Konstantin Jusoev, participated in the event
  • On September 5, 2022, a meeting between the Prosecutor of the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania and representatives of the General Prosecutor's Office of Russia was held at the de facto General Prosecutor's Office in Tskhinvali. Shepelev also participated in the meeting.
  • On November 10, 2022, “Militia” Day was celebrated in the Chermen cinema concert hall in Tskhinvali. At the ceremony, Shepelev read a congratulatory letter on behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. He awarded the Ossetian forces with departmental medals of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
  • On February 1, 2023, de facto Minister of Internal Affairs, Valery Gazaev, met with Shepelev. The meeting highlighted importance of information sharing between the „Ministries“.
  • On July 4, 2023, the de facto President, Alan Gagloyev, took part in events related to the 7th anniversary of signing an agreement on the establishment of the Joint Information and Coordination Center of the Ministers of Internal Affairs. Shepelov presented a report on the center’s six months activities.
  • On October 5, 2023, the de facto General Prosecutor, Grigory Sobaev, awarded Shepelov with the medal for “Assistance.” Shepelov was awarded for his contribution to the development of the de facto General Prosecutor's Office system.
