General Biographical Information

  • Yana Lantratova was born on December 14, 1988 in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), Russian SFSR, Soviet Union.
  • In 2011, she graduated from the journalism faculty of the St. Petersburg State University.
  • In 2012, she graduated from the law faculty of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of Russia.
  • In 2019, she graduated from the Moscow State Pedagogical University.
  • Ukraine and Western countries have put her on the sanctions list due to Russia's military aggression in Ukraine.

   Professional Career

  • In 2005-2006, she worked in media outlets and the Youth Public Organization.
  • In 2010-2013, she was the Head of the Social Projects Department of the Youth Guards of the United Russia national party.
  • In 2012-2015, she chaired the Union of Volunteers of the Russian public organization.
  • In 2015-2019, she was the Responsible Secretary of the Human Rights Council.

Political Career

  • In 2017-2019, Lantratova was the Chief Advisor of the Department for Interaction with NGOs and Civil Society Institutions of the Public Projects Department of the Presidential Administration.
  • In 2019-2021, she headed humanitarian projects on the territory of the CIS and the Eurasian Economic Union in the Department of Development of Integration Projects at the Ministry of Economic Development.
  • In 2021, she was elected as a deputy to the State Duma of the 8th convocation under the list of the Fair Russia - Patriots - For Truth political party. Lantratova is the First Deputy Chairman of the Education Committee. She is also a member of the Commission investigating facts of foreign interference in Russia's internal affairs. She is the Coordinator of the Deputies Group (Friendship Group) in the State Duma of the 8th convocation which is responsible for relations with the de facto parliament of the Tskhinvali region.

Relations with Abkhazia

  • On March 12, 2022, members of the Russian State Duma attended the illegitimate parliamentary elections in Abkhazia as “international observers.” Lantratova was among them.
  • On March 22, 2022, a meeting of the working group on “Strengthening political and economic ties between Abkhazia and Russia” was held in the State Duma. Abkhazia's de facto Foreign Minister, Inal Ardzinba, and representatives of various factions of the State Duma participated in the meeting, including Lantratova.
  • On October 5, 2022, during his visit to Moscow, the Speaker of the illegitimate parliament of Abkhazia, Lasha Ashuba, met with State Duma deputy group for relations with the de facto parliament of Abkhazia. Lantratova also participated in the meeting.
  • On August 4, 2023, the President of the de facto Republic of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, met with Lantratova, who was vacationing with her family in Abkhazia. At the meeting Lantratova voiced her intention to meet with the Abkhaz youth. Bzhania supported the initiative and noted that “orientation of young people in the right direction ensures stability in the state.”

Relations with the Tskhinvali Region

  • On April 8, 2022, Lantratova participated in a meeting of the initiative group “supporting to hold the referendum on the entry of South Ossetia into the Russian Federation”. The meeting was held in Tskhinvali.
  • On April 10, 2022, the second round of illegitimate presidential elections was held in the Tskhinvali region. Lantratova, comprising a delegation of the Russian State Duma, attended the elections as an “international observer” and made assessments. According to her, “the presidential elections in South Ossetia were held in accordance with international and national legislation, observers from the State Duma did not record any violations.”
  • On December 9, 2022, events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Soviet Union and the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of the de facto parliament were held in Tskhinvali. Lantratova, as an honored guest, participated in the events and was hosted by the de facto President, Alan Gagloyev. Lantratova was presented to Gagloyev as the Head of the Friendship Group between the Tskhinvali region and Russia. On December 10, the delegation of the State Duma had a meeting in the de facto parliament. Russian deputies were received by the de facto Speaker, Alan Alborov.
  • On August 26, 2023, a delegation of the Russian State Duma visited Tskhinvali. The visit was related to the 15th anniversary of the recognition of the independence of the de facto republic of the Tskhinvali region by Russia (August 26, 2008). Lantratova comprised the delegation. She was awarded the “Order of Friendship.”
  • On August 26, 2023, a delegation of the Russian State Duma visited Tskhinvali. The visit of the delegation was related to the 15th anniversary of the recognition of the independence of the de facto republic of the Tskhinvali region by Russia (August 26, 2008). Lantratova was also a member of the delegation and was awarded the “Order of Friendship.”
