On February 15, the Tskhinvali region commemorated the day of Internationalist Soldiers. On this day, 32 years ago, the Soviet troops withdrew from Afghanistan.
During the ceremony, a wreath was laid at the memorial of heroes killed in the war. Afghan veterans, representatives of the de facto government of the Tskhinvali region (including the “President” Anatoly Bibilov), the Russian “ambassador” Marat Kulakhmetov, military personnel and schoolchildren attended the event.
Bibilov and Kulakhmetov delivered speeches and spoke about the merits of the Afghan warriors.
