As a result of Spring 2019 recruitment, 600 recruits joined military base of Russia in Abkhazia. At the initial stage, recruits will pass general military training and take the oath. Military doctors and psychologists will conduct medical checks, special surveys and testing.

Up to 400 junior military specialists, graduates of training centers of the Russian Ministry of Defense joined the Russian military unit in Abkhazia. As a result of spring 2019 recruitment, more than 11,000 will be recruited in the southern military district of the Russian Federation.
