De facto President of Tkhinvali Region Anatoly Bibilov hosted the Delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. The Head of the Delegation was Sergey Istrakov - Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. At the meeting were discussed issues on military-technical cooperation and implementation of the signed agreements.

During the meeting Bibilov expressed concern over the efforts of Georgia to join NATO, the Lugar Laboratory activities and Georgia’s refusal to sign the Memorandum on Non-Use of Force.

According to Istrakov, the 4th military base allocated in Tskhinvali Region is the guarantee for peace and friendship. Up to 300 servicemen of Tskhinvali Region armed forces have already started service in Russian Armed Forces.
