Abkhaz boxers won the All-Russian Boxing Tournament which was held in Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, on March 14-19. The tournament was attended by representatives of 22 administrative units of Russia, about 80 students, including the winners - Belena Kvitsinia and Daur Torchua, who study at the Kuban State University. Abkhazian students have won the right to participate in the World Cup.
An Abkhazian boxer Khariton Agrba won the second welterweight title at the World Boxing Association in Moscow. This is Agrba's fifth professional boxing win. Agrba is 25-year-old and was born in Gagra. He is a European Games silver medalist and winner of the Russian championships in 2012 and 2018, made his professional debut in 2019, winning four fights.
A championship of the Central Federal District in freestyle wrestling among juniors was held in Bryansk, Russia, on March 18-20. A 19-year-old Abkhazian Marat Kokoskeria became the winner of the championship. As a result, the wrestler will be able to compete in the Russian Freestyle Wrestling Championship in Irkutsk, on April 8-12. Kokoskeria is the champion of Abkhazia and the winner of Russian and international tournaments.
