Ibragim Gaseev, de facto Minister of Defense of Tskhinvali Region, attended conference on security issues in Moscow. He give a speech at the plenary session– “International Peacekeeping: new approaches and military cooperation“.

Gaseev talked about the success of the peace mission commenced in Tskhinvali Region in July 1992. In this regards he noted activities of a Joint Control Commission for Georgian–Ossetian Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping Force. Peacekeeping Forces consisted of Russian, Georgian and Ossetian battalions. Anatoly Bibilov, de facto President of Tskhinvali Region, and Marat Kulakhmetov, “Ambassador“ of Russia to Tskhinvali Region, served in Peacekeeping Forces until 2008.

The conference was organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on April 23-25. More than 1000 participants from 111 countries and various international organizations attended the conference.
