The vaccination of conscripts of the spring 2021 call-up with the Sputnik V Russian vaccine against the coronavirus started at the 7th military base of the Russian Federation in Abkhazia. After the vaccination, each serviceman remains under the supervision of doctors who measure their temperature three times a day.

Before their arrival at the base, the servicemen were in quarantine and passed a test for coronavirus. All had negative test results for the virus.

The recruits will receive a second dose of the vaccine after 21 days. Each of them will be issued a special certificate confirming the vaccination. The Southern Military District of the Russian Federation reserved over 20,000 doses of the vaccine for the spring call-up conscripts.
