Bzhania Speaks about New Russian Investments to Abkhazia

The de facto President of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, announced the construction of a sanatorium-resort facility in Pitsunda. The sanatorium will be the largest in Abkhazia and its construction will be funded by Russian investors. 

The volume of Russian investment is about RUB 10 billion. According to Bzhania, contracts will be signed by the end of this year, and the work will start by the end of 2022. This unprecedented project will employ 2,000 people with “very high wages,” and the facility will attract a huge number of tourists.”

In addition, Bzhania said that owners of the Adler trout farm in Krasnodar Krai intend to invest RUB 750 million in the Otkharsky trout farm in the Gudauta region. The investment will increase the number of jobs from 20 to 130, and the volume of production - 15 times. Currently, the farm produces ten tons of fish a year.

According to Bzhania, a project related to the cultivation of citrus fruits using modern irrigation technologies, which will be implemented in 2022-2023, is currently underway and is at the stage of “signing contracts.” The approximate volume of investment is RUB one billion.

Also, a blueberry cultivation project is being implemented in the Gali district. The volume of investment is up to RUB 200 million.

In the village of Tamysh, the Ochamchire district, the construction of the second part of the tourist complex is underway. The project will employ 650 people and provide a total of 1300 recreational places.
