Tskhinvali Region Askes for Additional Doses of the Russian Vaccine

The number of people wishing to get vaccinated with the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus significantly increased in the Tskhinvali region. As of July 20, a total of 702 people received the first component of the Sputnik V, and 308 received both components of the vaccine.

Reportedly, the region asked the Russian government to provide additional doses of the vaccine. According to the de facto Minister of Health, Soslan Naniyev, the region will receive another batch of vaccines, including the Sputnik V and Sputnik Light Russian vaccines in the near future.

The de facto Ministry of Health stated that the agency is also working on the issue of recognizing vaccination certificates issued in the Tskhinvali region by Russia. As Naniyev noted, the vaccinated people,  Russian citizens and citizens of the so-called South Ossetia, will be issued Russian certificates on the basis of certificates received in the region.
