The Russian Federation sent a multi-disciplinary mobile hospital to Abkhazia to increase the latter’s bed capacity. The mobile hospital accommodates 100 patients.

A mobile medical unit, comprised of over 100 military personnel and 30 units of special military equipment, is on the 800 km long route from Stavropol. The hospital will be deployed on the territory of the Aytar boarding house, in Sokhumi.

The “government” of Abkhazia applied to the Russian government for help in the fight against the coronavirus for the second time. The first field hospital operated in Abkhazia from October 20, 2020 to March 1, 2021. It provided various types of assistance to more than 3,700 people.
