On August 22, Tskhinvali celebrated the National Flag Day of the Russian Federation and held solemn events, including the Drawing on the Asphalt action. The event was organized by the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots and the Rossotrudnichestvo office in the region.

The celebration began with the Russian national anthem, after which the Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office, Sergey Skvortsov, addressed the audience. In addition to the drawing on the asphalt, representatives of various community organizations distributed ribbons in the colors of the Russian flag to the locals.

At the end of the event, children were presented with sweets, and Soviet-era cartoons were screened.
