The fight against COVID-19 continues at the 7th military base of the Russian Federation in Abkhazia. The de facto Ministry of Health received two ambulances from the Chechen Republic on September 4. The vehicles were handed over to Abkhazia as a gift following talks between the “President”, Aslan Bzhania, and a Russian State Duma deputy, Adam Delimkhanov.

The multi-disciplinary mobile hospital sent by the Russian Ministry of Defense continues to treat patients infected with the coronavirus. The hospital provided inpatient treatment for 70 patients, 46 of them have already been discharged. The hospital also performs PCR tests and provides the results in 40 minutes.

As of September 4, there are 25,529 confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection in Abkhazia, with 21,670 recovered people and 387 - dead.
