On May 14-20, group of doctors of Federal Medical-Biological Agency of Russia will conduct medical examinations for Sukhumi population. Medical examinations for the population of Abkhazia have been started on April 5, 2019 from Gali district and will be completed on June 9, in Gagra district. The group of Agency doctors comprises of 50 specialists and 12 units of medical equipment.  

During the period of April 5-25, 6128 citizens have undergone consultation, with 1274 children among them.

Maria Zakharova, representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commented on ongoing process of medical examinations in Abkhazia. According to her, medical check-ups give an opportunity to receive medical assistance in Russia. As Zakharova stated, in Abkhazia construction of medical emergency center is planned in nearest future, where specialists from Russia will work to improve the quality of medical assistance for the population of Abkhazia and Russian tourists.
