This week, the Abkhaz “Minister of Health,” Eduard Butba, plans a working visit to Moscow to discuss medicines supply to the de facto republic and other topical issues with the Russian Ministry of Health.
The parties will talk about the construction of a modern cardiology centre in Sokhumi, compulsory medical insurance, the recognition of Abkhazian QR codes, as well as medicines supply to Abkhazia. At this stage, Abkhazia does not have problems with the supply of medicines from Russia, however, given the workload of medical institutions, it is desirable to increase the volume of medicines import.
As Butba noted, the Abkhaz diaspora in Turkey is also actively assisting the “Republic;” however, Abkhazia experiences a shortage of expensive coronavirus drugs.
