On November 24, the “president” Aslan Bzhania visited the Gali District Hospital. The chief physician Astamur Gamgia told the president that the MRI machine, which cost RUB 11 million 700 thousand and was handed over to the hospital without several important components, was no longer operating.

The Ministry of Health handed over the machine to the hospital in 2017. According to Gamgia, some components were promised to be delivered later but they were not delivered. The “Head” of the Gali district, Konstantin Pilia, said that Russian specialists were invited to put the device into operation who said that the device could no longer be used.

The chief physician also noted that the hospital was built in 1964 and there has been no major renovations since then.
