On December 2, 2021, the de facto Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia, Inal Ardzinba, met with the Russian “Ambassador” to Abkhazia, Aleksey Dvinianin. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Russian Federation, Igor Akhba and the Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Abkhazia, Maxim Litvinov. Aleksey Dvinianin congratulated Inal Ardzinba on his appointment as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and wished him success.

At the meeting, the sides stressed the need to launch new Abkhaz-Russian projects in the fields of youth, culture, sports and education. During the meeting, topical issues of Abkhaz-Russian bilateral relations were discussed and hope was expressed for further fruitful work to strengthen and develop relations.
