A new batch of the Sputnik Light Russian anti-coronavirus vaccine was delivered to Abkhazia. As of January 2022, a total of 16,600 people were vaccinated in Abkhazia. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 6929 people have been vaccinated with the Sputnik Light vaccine.

The de facto Ministry of Health purchased 3000 doses of the vaccine. These doses will be used for the revaccination process first. The vaccine will be available at the Sokhumi City Clinical Hospital, as well as at district central hospitals.

In addition, Russia provided 50,000 PCR tests to Abkhazia for free. According to the latest data, 48,808 confirmed cases of the coronavirus infection were reported in Abkhazia.
