On February 10, Tskhinvali hosted an event dedicated to the date of Pushkin's death. The event was organized by the Rossotrudnichestvo office in the region and the Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (ATRLL).

The ceremony was attended by Zalina Tedeeva, the Head of the ATRLL, Sergey Skvortsov, the Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office, Natali Gasieva, the Minister of Education, with her Deputy, and others.

During the event, students of the State University and schoolchildren read their favorite poems from Pushkin's work and laid flowers at his monument.
