On April 27, in the Tskhinvali region,  Russian professor Alexander Mazuritsky delivered a lecture on the Great Patriotic War. He was on a two-day visit to the de facto republic and his lectures were attended by over 300 schoolchildren.

Mazuritsky is a professor in the Information-Analytical Department of Moscow State Linguistic University.

Among the attendees were Eliso Gagloeva, the Deputy "Minister" of Education, Sergey Skvortsov, the Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office, and others. The event was supported by the Rossotrudnichestvo office and the Russian Embassy in the Tskhinvali region.
