A solemn reception was held in the de facto republic of the Tskhinvali region to celebrate the Russian National Unity Day which Russia celebrates on November 4. The so-called President, Alan Gagloyev, the Russian “Ambassador,”  Marat Kulakhmetov, and Russian compatriots attended the solemn event.

The reception was organized by the Federal Agency for CIS States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Affairs (Russian House).

The Russian “Ambassador” Kulakhmetov noted that as a result of the efforts of the de facto republic’s government, their “common motherland” continues to develop and live together with the Tskhinvali region.

Alan Gagloyev congratulated the audience and citizens of Russia on the Russian National Unity Day and noted that today Russia is the guarantor of the security for the self-proclaimed Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics and the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. Gagloyev also added that fighters from the de facto republic of the Tskhinvali region are fighting in Ukraine together with Russian soldiers.

Sergey Skvortsov, the Head of the Russian House also attended the ceremony and delivered a solemn speech.
