According to Dmitry Fedotov, the Head of the Federal Agency CIS States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Affairs (Russian House) office in Abkhazia, a total of 110 quotas have been allocated for students living in occupied Abkhazia to study at Russian higher education institutions in the 2023-2024 academic year.
In addition, there are 14 places for 9th graders who want to continue their studies at a Russian vocational school.
According to Fedotov, the most popular fields are medicine, economics, jurisprudence and creative specialties. As per the quota of the new academic year, a total of 32 quotas were allocated to study information technologies, robotics and civil aviation.
