On May 25, the Russian government approved amendments to the protocol between Russia and the de facto republic of Abkhazia on a joint Russian military base stationed in Abkhazia.

The protocol lists the locations of Russian military facilities in Abkhazia. The protocol was sent to the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, for signing.
