The office of the Federal Agency for CIS States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Activities (hereinafter referred to as Russian House) in the occupied Abkhazia has a new Head, Vladislav Kulikov.
Before Kulikov, the Russian House office in Abkhazia was headed by Dmitry Fedotov, who was appointed to this position on June 6, 2022. Before that, Fedotov was an adviser to the Head of the Agency, Yevgeny Primakov.
The new Head of Russian House, Vladislav Kulikov, held one of his first meetings in the occupied Gali district on September 4. He met with the Head of the district administration, Konstantin Pilia. The meeting discussed the launch of more youth projects in the district.
On the same day, Kulikov met with the heads of the Gali Humanitarian College and the Open Education Center teaching the Russian language in Gali. With the head of the college, Gunda Kvarchia, Kulikov discussed a possible partnership between the college and a similar specialized Russian institution.
The meeting with the head of the Gali Open Education Center, Igor Basov, discussed the launch of new projects for Gali youth with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education.
The Open Education Center employs personnel of the Armavir State Pedagogical University located in the south of Russia. The goal of the center is to teach the local population the Russian language. It should be noted that the center was also opened in the Akhalgori district of the occupied Tskhinvali region, where, like in Gali, an ethnic Georgian population lives.
