Aslan Bzhania Meets with a St. Petersburg Delegation

On September 24, in Sokhumi, the President of the de facto Republic of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, hosted a government delegation from St. Petersburg. The Russian delegation was headed by the Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg, Kirill Polyakov.

As Bzhania noted at the meeting, he twice visited St. Petersburg this year and was happy with the hospitality and warm welcome from the local government. He confirmed the readiness for future cooperation development between the occupied Abkhazia and St. Petersburg.

Polyakov stated that this was his first visit to Abkhazia. He noted the importance of the development of business cooperation between the de facto republic and the Russian city and the implementation of Russian private investors-financed projects in Abkhazia.

The meeting was also attended by the so-called Mayor of Sokhumi, Beslan Eshba, and the de facto Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy, Kristina Ozgan, who also confirmed the importance of further economic cooperation.
