Round table – “do the Russians want war“ was held in Sukhumi. The event was held under the initiative of veteran peacekeepers, de facto leaders of Abkhazia and the institutions of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Raul Khajimba, de facto President of Abkhazia, Valery Bganba, de facto Prime Minister, Valery Kvarchia, de facto Parliament Speaker, and Kosnatnin Zatulin, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots of the State Duma, participated in discussions.

Talking about the August 2008 war Zatulin stated that “Russia gave Georgia opportunity to make a mistake which led us to Abkhazia and South Ossetia sovereignty recognition“.
