On January 29, 2019, Anton Melnik, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of North Caucasus Affairs, paid 3 day working visit to Tskhinvali.

Together with Marat Kulakhmetov, Russian „ambassador“ to the Tskhinvali Region, Melnik visited maternity home under construction in Tskhinvali. Erik Pukhaev, the region de facto Prime Minister hosted the guest.

During the visit Melnik discussed issues of socio-economic cooperation between Russia and the Tskhinvali Region, as well as priority directions for formation of the 2020-2022 investment program. Issues related to preparation for the Intergovernmental Committee next session were also discussed during the meeting. The session will be held in Tskhinvali in the first half of 2019.
