According to the Chairman of the State Duma of Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, at the next session will be reviewed the appeal of de facto parliament of Tskhinvali Region on recognition “South Ossetians“ Genocide committed by Georgia in 1920“. Members of the State Duma supported Volodin's statement to thoroughly study Tskhinvali appeal.
As the Chairman of the Committee for CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots of the State Duma, Leonid Kalashnikov, stated, “it is necessary to study the arguments, necessary to see the historical aspect, this requires analysis, once analysed, the State Duma will return to the issue of recognition of Ossetian genocide committed by Georgia. Recognition of such fact is never done quickly and simply." Deputy to Kalashnikov, Konstantin Zatulin, also said that MPs would study the issue thoroughly. Sergey Gavrilov, who chairs the Committee on Civil Society Development, Public and Religious Affairs, also supported the Chairman statement.
