Members of the State Duma supported Volodin's statement to thoroughly study Tskhinvali appeal.

As the Chairman of the Committee for CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots of the State Duma, Leonid Kalashnikov, stated, “it is necessary to study the arguments, necessary to see the historical aspect, this requires analysis, once analysed, the State Duma will return to the issue of recognition of Ossetian genocide committed by Georgia. Recognition of such fact is never done quickly and simply." Deputy to Kalashnikov, Konstantin Zatulin, also said that MPs would study the issue thoroughly.
