De facto Parliament of Abkhazia invited observers for the second round of illegitimate presidential elections. Among the observers are representatives of State Duma and Federation Council of Russian Federation, self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and Tskhinvali Region.

The first round was held on August 25. In the first round, Raul Khajimba, de facto President of Abkhazia received 24.83% of votes, while Alkhas Kvitsinia, Leader of the opposition party „Amtsakhara“, received - 22.91%. The second round of illegitimate presidential elections will be held on September 8.
