De facto parliament of Tskhinvali Region appealed to the State Duma and the Federation Council of Russian Federation with the issue of Georgian checkpoint opening close to the village Tsnelisi.

With this appeal Tskhinvali asks Moscow to support implementation of Article 2 of the Alliance and Integration Agreement, according to which Russia is to ensure Tskhinvali Region defence and security, protection of de facto borders. In this regard, members of de facto parliament are requesting Russian MPs to immediately hold inter-parliamentary consultations and develop joint approaches, which they believe will help to de-escalate tension.
