On February 8, 2019, Russian „ambassador“ to Abkhazia Aleksey Dvinianin  held a press conference at Sputnik news agency. Among the significant issues Dvinianin spoke on the following:

·         According to Dvinianin, 130 treaties and two basic agreements were signed between Abkhazia and Russia.

·         Dvinianin commented on the first session held on February 6 in Geneva between Russia and Georgia on implementation of the agreement „Between the Government of Georgia and the Government of the Russian Federation on Basic Principles Related to the Customs Administration and Monitoring Mechanism of Trade“

·         According to Dvinianin Abkhazia's involvement in the Geneva International Discussions allows the West to understand what is happening in Abkhazia. The Geneva Discussions have been held since October 2008.
