On February 8, 2019, memory of Dmitry and Olga Vishernev was honoured at the „embassy“ of the Russian Federation in Abkhazia. Abkhaz Foreign Minister Daur Kove also attended the event.

Dmitry Vishernev was Vice-Consul and the first secretary of the Russian „embassy“ in Abkhazia. He was shot dead in head near his home garage on September 9, 2013. His wife, who was seriously injured in the attack, died on September 14. The Prosecutor General’s Office of Abkhazia confirmed in official statement that Iskhan Sabanchiev and Yusup Lakaev, resident of Grozny, were involved in this murder. Yusup Lakaev was arrested in Batumi on September 13.
