The 7th Russian military base in Abkhazia received 10 latest armoured vehicles „Tigr“ manufactured by  „GAS“. Each vehicle weighs - 6.5 t, with maximum speed - 120 km / h.

The vehicles are designed for carrying out surveillance, escorting and protecting convoys, patrolling and providing firing support to the servicemen.

In the framework of the Southern Military District armed forces rearmament plan, up to 10 modern portable radar stations „Соболятник“ were deployed at the military base.
