On February 14, 2019, in Moscow, at the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Russian Federation, regular round of consultations was held between Russia and Abkhazia. Aleksey Pavlovski, Director of the 4th CIS Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and Igor Akhba, de facto ambassador of Abkhazia to Russia, participated in the meeting.

The consultations are being held in the framework of the Foreign Policy Coordination Mechanism, established by the Memorandum signed between the Foreign Ministries of Abkhazia and Russia on March 11, 2015.
