Rashid Nurgaliyev Discussed Security Issues with the Representatives of Tskhinvali Region

On February 20, 2019, in Moscow, the Secretary of the de facto Security Council of Tskhinvali Region, Valeri Valiev and the Head of the de facto President’s Administration, Igor Kozaev, discussed the issues of cooperation in the field of security with the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Rashid Nurgaliyev. Nurgaliyev is the curator of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali Region within the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

During the meeting, current issues of ensuring security of Tskhinvali Region were discussed, including the ones regarding the implementation of activities planned in terms of the March 18, 2015 Agreement on Alliance and Integration between Russia and Tskhinvali Region.

On 10 April, 2018, in Moscow, the Secretary of the de facto Security Council of Tskhinvali Region, Valeri Valiev and the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Patrushev, signed the 2018-2019 Cooperation Plan. The Plan envisages cooperation in the fields of military and military technologies, law enforcement structures and exchanging information and experience between the custom services.

Russia has a similar cooperation plan with Abkhazia as well. On February 8, 2019, in Moscow, the Secretary of the de facto Security Council of Abkhazia, Mohammed Kilba, and the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Patrushev, signed the 2019-2020 Cooperation Plan between two Security Councils.
