On Junev9, 2020, the Russian Federation „ambassador“ to Abkhazia Aleksey Dvinianin held a press-conference at the news agency „Sputnik“, where he spoke  about Russian-Abkhazian relations and other issues such as fight against the new Coronavirus, restrictions imposed due to the pandemic, celebration of the 75th anniversary of the victory in the great Patriotic War and of „Russia Day“.

„Russia is strongly supporting Abkhazia in promoting its international recognition and establishing contacts with foreign countries. Most often this activity is not visible to the general public, which is explained by the desire not to harm the interests of those countries that are ready to  recognize the independence of Abkhazia, but are afraid of pressure, and often direct blackmail by Tbilisi’s western patrons“, said Dvinianin.
