On June 12, the state holiday of the Russian Federation - „Russia Day“ was celebrated in Tskhinvali. The event was started with laying flowers at the „Eternal Flame Memorial“ in the Alley of Glory.

The event was attended by the Russian „ambassador“ to Abkhazia Marat Kulakhmetov, Russian Diplomats and local de facto authorities. Motor rally, dedicated to the holiday, was held after the event. The rally was organized by the Russian de facto „embassy“ in the region and the United Republican Youth Organization „United Alania“.

„Russia Day“ is celebrated in the Tskhinvali Region as so-called the state holiday. Due to the new Coronavirus pandemic the events were less grandiose.
