On March 1, 2019, in Sukhumi, representatives of the de facto Agricultural Ministry of Abkhazia, together with Russian colleagues discussed the following organizational issues for 2019: fighting against Asian Bugs in Abkhazia, development of fruit plantations and dealing with hazelnut tree diseases.

According to the de facto Minister Amiran Kakalia, drugs from Russia will be received and hazelnuts treating will be commenced by March 10. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Russian delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, Department Director Roman Nekrasov and his Deputy Dmitry Shtundyuk.
