The de facto Vice President of Abkhazia, Badra Gunba, met with the Russian "ambassador" to Abkhazia, Aleksey Dvinianin. The de facto Foreign Minister, Daur Kove, also attended the meeting. The agenda of the scheduled meeting of the Commission for the Protection of Property Rights of Citizens of the Russian Federation in Abkhazia was discussed at the meeting.
Gunba noted that during the work of the Commission, since 2010, a total of 369 applications were reviewed, including 66 satisfied, 34 citizens compensated, 60 people recommended to go to court, 44 statements were declared unfounded. According to Gunba, the Commission does not consider the statements of ethnic Georgians, especially those involved in the war. Gunba expressed his disagreement with statements spread of Russian media that the property rights of ethnic Russians are massively violated in Abkhazia.
The issue of the property rights of ethnic Russians is acute in Abkhazian-Russian relations. Russia has been accusing the de facto government of Abkhazia of restricting the property rights of ethnic Russians for years.
