The 7th military base military police division of the Russian Federation in Abkhazia received heavy machine guns - „Utes“. According to Commander of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Dvornikov instruction, District Military Police Divisions were provided with machine guns, which provide additional aerial defence for Commanding Units from armed drones.

Machine gun is aimed to destroy enemy forces, light armoured targets, fortified firing points and air equipment. New machine guns are unique as they can be used against costal or aerial targets.

The 7th military base military police was formed at the end of 2018. Military police division is designed to ensure military discipline and order within military units, as well as on field gatherings and exercises, also protect facilities of special significance during the military situation.
