On October 17, the de facto Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Tskhinvali region, Akhsar Jioev, met with the Director of the 4th CIS Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Denis Gonchar, who oversees relations with the countries of the South Caucasus. Gonchar also supervises the direction of the occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region.
On October 17, a working meeting was held in Moscow on the implementation of the program for the formation of a common social and economic space between Russia and Abkhazia based on the harmonization of the Abkhaz “legislation” with the Russian one.
On October 13, the de facto President of the Tskhinvali region, Alan Gagloyev, held a meeting with a delegation of the Russian Federation Council. The head of the Russian delegation was a member of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, Sergei Tsekov. The Russian “Ambassador” to the region, Marat Kulakhmetov, also participated in the meeting.

After a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, on October 3, in Sochi, and a meeting with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, on October 4, the President of the de facto Republic of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, together with other members of the de facto government, left for a working visit to Moscow.
On October 9, the Chairman of the de facto parliament of the Tskhinvali region, Alan Alborov, and the Chairman of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, met in Moscow. At the meeting, the parties signed a memorandum that will “enable more active dialogue between MPs.”

On September 30, the de facto Republic of Abkhazia solemnly marks the day of Victory and Independence of the Republic of Abkhazia. On September 30, three days after the fall of Sokhumi, Georgian units left the territory of Abkhazia, and separatists raised the “state” flag of Abkhazia on the bank of the Enguri river. This year, Abkhazia celebrated the 30th anniversary of “victory” and held a military parade. Guests arrived from Russia to participate in the ceremonial events in the de facto republic.
On September 26-29, the ninth meeting of the joint demarcation commission of Russia and the de facto republic of the Tskhinvali region was held in Moscow. The meeting discussed the issue of delimitation and demarcation of the “border” between the de facto republic and Russia.
On September 15, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Volvach, and the Deputy Director of the Department for Special Programs and Projects of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Anton Melnik, visited the de facto Republic of Abkhazia.
On September 16, the de facto Deputy Mayors of Sokhumi, Avtandil Surmanidze and Leon Kvarchia, visited Rostov-on-Don and took part in events related to the City Day. Sokhumi and Rostov are sister cities.
On September 13, a meeting was held between the so-called speaker of the parliament, Lasha Ashuba, and a deputy of the Russian Duma, Anastasia Udaltsova, who is also a member of the Committee on International Affairs. Other deputies of the de facto parliament also attended the meeting which discussed the issues of “inter-parliamentary” cooperation.
