The de facto Deputy Heads of the Sokhumi Administration, Avtandil Surmanidze, and Astamur Shamba, as well as an employee of the de facto Administration, Inal Abukhba, visited Donetsk to celebrate the 152nd anniversary of the city.

The Public Chambers of the Tskhinvali region and the Donetsk People's Republic signed a cooperation agreement in Tskhinvali. The agreement was signed by the Chairmen of the Chambers, Alexander Kofman, and Sergei Kudziev.

The Tskhinvali region and the Donetsk People's Republic signed a protocol in the field of education. The purpose of the protocol is to qualify teaching staff of universities of the two “countries” and to increase opportunities for young scientists and students.

Denis Pushilin, Leader of Self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, visited Tskhinvali Region. Delegation from Donetsk will participate in celebration dedicated to the 29th anniversary of republic declaration by Tskhinvali Region.

On May 10, 2019, Anatoly Bibilov, de facto President of Tskhinvali Region visited Donetsk to celebrate the 5th anniversary of declaration of independence of self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic. The delegation of Bibilov comprised of Dmitry Medoyev, de facto Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Ibragim Gasseyev, de facto Minister of Defence, and others. In Donetsk, Republic Day was celebrated on May 11. On the same day in 2014, illegitimate referendum was held which was followed by declaration of independence. During the visit in Donetsk, Bibilov received the Order of the Republic from Denis Pushilin, self-proclaimed Leader of Donetsk.
